Annapurna tragedy.

In 2009 I took off to Nepal to follow a dream. So not far from my mind the last few days are the trekkers and locals who have lost their lives this week on the Annapurna trail in the Nepal Himalayas. It seems that most perished on attempts to go over the Thorong La pass at 5412m when freak weather moved in on them. It is not a technical climb this time of year but one must be prepared for any and all eventualities in the mountains. It reminds me we are not in control of anything and certainly not the big stuff. I'm saddened that so many lost their lives on this amazing trail and on their own personal journeys of discovery. For the humble kind Nepalese people too who have again lost loved ones in another tragedy this year in their beautiful land. Rest in Peace. Namaste.
