'Travertine Sinter', what's it about?

A new body of work I just released has had some people asking questions. Some don't know what they are looking at. That's okay with me. Perhaps it could get boring if everything was so easily translated all the time. In a visual saturated world if a photograph can still make a viewer wonder, well that's good I think.  One friend wrote the following when I sent out the first batch of E Promos : "I don't know quite what I'm looking at Michelle, but these are beautiful, captivating images."

Montana's beef with buffalo

This week in a sweeping gesture, the buffalo became the first national mammal of the United States. But it is just that, a gesture. For the sad truth for those who care to look beyond the glaze of regurgitated headlines and political half truths is that the American buffalo is persecuted still. In Yellowstone, the worlds first national park, America's last wild buffalo succumb to an axe wielded by the state of Montana to protect cowboys and their cows.
