'Travertine Sinter', what's it about?

A new body of work I just released has had some people asking questions. Some don't know what they are looking at. That's okay with me. Perhaps it could get boring if everything was so easily translated all the time. In a visual saturated world if a photograph can still make a viewer wonder, well that's good I think.  One friend wrote the following when I sent out the first batch of E Promos : "I don't know quite what I'm looking at Michelle, but these are beautiful, captivating images."

The Wanderweg Way

The plane landed in Zurich on time after a harried journey on train, taxi and plane from Dublin. We took the zug south to Interlaken squeezing ourselves, our gear into the commuter rush of Bern and towns in between. Dusk fell as we arrived in Interlaken and came together with far flung friends. A wedding ensued of fairytale dimensions in a castle watched over by famous Alpen peaks like Eiger and Jungfrau. A sunset barely believable blazed across the sky and coloured the waters of the lakes and tinged the peaks pink high above our heads.

Before digital, Sumatra

Tonight I came across some I'd scanned of a trip to Indonesia in 1998. Here's a few from around the area of Lake Toba and Bukit Lawang in Sumatra. I'd gone to see the WWF Orangutan sanctuary in Bukit Lawang. Lake Toba I'd gone to for a few days, was so enthralled with the place and road weary that I ended up staying 10.
