Omey Island
Omey Island is a tidal island on the Aughrus peninsula on the west coast of Ireland in the unique region of Connemara, County Galway. In a culture seeped in horses, the annual Omey Races brings locals, tourists and horse enthusiasts from all over Ireland to race their horses on the strand. The only requirement being, your racing is done before the tide comes in and reclaims the racecourse.
